Tallgrass at Shanegri-La

Inspired by nature, Shane O’Neill imagined unforgettable golf.

Where the grass is tall, the vibes are relaxed, and your swing is probably better than you think.

Tallgrass is where fairways gleam like film reels unspooling under sunlit skies. The views are quiet. Too quiet.
Each hole offers beauty… and questions you didn’t know you were asking. The challenge? Subtle, perhaps unsettling. Just enough to remind your buddies who’s the one really dreaming.

Whether you’re chasing birdies or a ball that vanished mid-flight, this is where it happens—with style, shadowed sunlight, and bourbon that tastes like a memory. And if Kane finds you—smile. He’s the guardian of the green. A very good boy. With unknowable thoughts.

The fairways were perfect, the views were unreal, and by hole 6, I was ready to sell my house and live here full-time. Easily the most fun I’ve ever had while not wearing shoes.

Where Great Rounds and Better Stories Begin

Careful—Tallgrass doesn’t let go. One round becomes two, and suddenly you’re not sure when you last checked your watch. The pool feels distant, like a place you once knew. Dinner? You had plans. You think.

The fairways are too quiet. The wind moves, but nothing bends. Each hole feels the same, but different—like a dream looping on itself.

Kane is always there. Sometimes ahead of you. Sometimes behind. He doesn’t bark. He just watches.

You meant to explore the rest of Shanegri-La. But Tallgrass had other ideas. And now… so do you.

Course Rules

  • Play It Where It Lies:
After the tee shot, continue playing your ball from where it lands until it’s holed.
  • Scoring:
Each stroke counts as one point. Stroke play ends when ball hits bucket. If ball goes in the bucket, it’s stroke count -1. If ball goes in off the tee it’s called a hole in 0, because you would have 0 strokes on the hole. The player with the fewest total strokes at the end of the course wins.
  • Order of Play:
On the first hole, determine play order randomly. After that, the player farthest from the bucket goes first.
  • Obstacles:
Natural and man-made obstacles are part of the course—play around or over them. There are no out of bounds, unless a  player’s ball goes over the fence or into the water. In which case the player would drop the ball to the closest in bound spot from where the ball went out of bounds.
  • A player may place a ball anywhere within a club length for any unplayable, in bounds lie. Unplayable is defined as a lie where the player’s backswing is obstructed, preventing striking the ball.
  • Tiebreaker:
In the event of a tie, settle it with a closest-to-the-bucket challenge from a set distance.

Resort Championships

Championships at Tallgrass are based on four 6 hole rounds. First cut is after the second round at which time the bottom 1/3 of players are eliminated.
